Checklist to get your AdSense account approved


Remember, there are 4 stages to get your site approved for serving ads with AdSense: 

  1. Apply for the account when your site accomplishes with all the required conditions.

  2. Put some ads in your site using the provisional AdSense account you got in the previous step.

  3. Final review of your site with the ads on it.

  4. A pin to activate your account will be delivered to your address.

OK, lets start ticking the list:

  1. Your website should be a couple of months old, six months in some countries.
  2. Write in an international or widely used language, like English or Spanish.
  3. Need to have a minimum of 20 - 40 quality articles with 2 lengthy articles +2000 words.
  4. Do not write about prohibited content. Avoid pornographic, drugs or violence related content. Anything illegal will be refused by Google.
  5. Don't use ads from third parties or affiliate networks for the moment.
  6. Have a clean website design with easy navigation. Having a mobile friendly website is a must, and helps with the search results for mobiles and tablets.
  7. Register in the analytics program and add the tracking code to your website.
  8. Register in Google Webmaster program and Bing Webmaster Tools for good search visibility.
  9. Create the XML sitemap of your site.
  10. Have About Us and Contact Us pages.
  11. It is recommended that your website global Alexa ranking should be less than 400K.
  12. Have a Privacy Policy page and a disclaimer.
  13. It is recommended to have a minimum traffic of 50 visitors per day. Never use paid traffic services to reach that number.
  14. Agree with Google AdSense TOC and apply to Adsense.
  15. Apply to AdSense with a custom domain email. Eg: name@website.com

Although not all the points of the list above are compulsory, they are highly recommended. The final decision is in the hands of the reviewer of your website. To be safe, check the most recent terms and conditions from Google's AdSense, the may change over time.
